Deepening the Dream (online)

Deepening the Dream

A four session journey into the Dreamtime with Sarah Maclean Bicknell

Before anything is built in this world, it is first dreamed. The Aboriginal peoples of Australia speak of the Dreamtime as the timeless realm from which the world was first sung into being, the home of song, poetry, symbol and archetype that gives shape to everything we touch. In our own culture we have come to trust only the waking world, and we have forgotten how to receive from the invisible. Deepening the Dream is an invitation to remember.

There is an old story of two stonemasons working on Notre Dame. When asked what they were doing, one said, I am squaring a stone. The other said, I am building a cathedral. Both were doing the same work with their hands, yet only one knew that the cathedral already lived in the Dreamtime and that his labour was part of something far larger. This course is about learning to work as the second mason, knowing that our lives are unfolding in more than one dimension at once.

Over four sessions we map the layers of dreaming, from the most physical and literal to the most subtle and spacious, and learn to recognise where we are as we move between them. We work with energetic signature, the unique felt sense of a person, a place or a being, and we practise meeting a dream partner both in waking life and inside the dream. Each session holds time for teaching, practice, sharing and quiet listening.

The four sessions:

Session One. (February 21st, 9-11am) Mapping the dreaming, energetic signature, and meeting up inside the dream. The five layers of dreaming

Session Two. (March 7th, 9-11am) Archetypes, future travel, and the teachers who come to us in dreams. The importance of the tipping point and the antidote

Session Three. (March 21st, 9-11am) Lucid dreaming, imagination, and finding our ally and partnership in the dream. Re-entering the dream and journeying

Session Four.(April 11th, 9-11am) Dreaming for another, the healing work, and dreaming in service of community. Simple dream constellation work to expand the dream

The spirit of this work

Dreaming is a way of life and not a goal to reach. The dreamer is a messenger rather than a figure of importance, someone developing the skills to be more present for themselves, their family and their community. We dream unconditionally, whatever the conditions are, and we bring what we receive back into the world through small and quiet acts of service.

Who is this for*

Those who already have a living relationship with their dreams and wish to go further, and those who feel called to dream with intention in service of life.

*Completing the Dreamer and the Messenger course is required in order to participate in this course.

What you will learn

  • The importance of nightmares and how they help you move the stuck places in your life.
